Biblical Assistant — deleting your account and your data

This page explains how to delete the account you created in Biblical Assistant (package com.biblicalassistant.app), published by Martin Liminovic, self-employed (individuali veikla), Lithuania.

Delete it yourself, inside the app

Open Biblical Assistant on your device.
Open Settings.
Choose "Delete account", at the bottom of the account section.

The account, the server's copies of your notes, your support tickets and your chat transcript are erased at once. No email exchange is needed.

Write to biblical.assist@gmail.com from the address you signed in with, and we will delete the account and answer you within one month.

What is deleted, and what is kept

Your account: internal identifier, email address, Google account identifier, subscription state: Deleted immediately.
The server's copy of your notes and highlights: Deleted immediately.
Notes and highlights stored on your own phone: Stay on the phone — they were yours before there was an account. Uninstalling the app removes them.
Two one-way hashes — one of your Google account identifier, one of a per-install identifier for the phone — each with the date your free trial was opened: Kept. Neither contains a name or an email, and neither can be read back into an address or a device. Without them, deleting the account and signing in again would hand out fresh free days for ever; the second exists because the first alone can be walked around with a new Google account.
Support tickets you sent us, and our answers: Deleted with the account.
The support chat transcript: Kept 24 hours, and deleted with the account.
Server logs (verse references and timings): Kept for 30 days, then deleted.
Cached assistant answers: Carry no identifier of any reader; kept 30 days.
Crash reports (what failed, the app version, phone model and system version): Kept 30 days by Sentry in the European Union; they are not tied to your account.

Deleting only some of your data, without deleting the account

You do not have to delete the whole account to have data removed.

Individual notes and highlights: delete them in the app. The deletion is copied to the server the next time the app syncs, so the server's copy goes too.
Anything else — for example the support messages you sent us: write to biblical.assist@gmail.com, say what you want removed, and we will do it and answer you within one month.

The same retention rules as above apply to what is kept: the two one-way trial hashes stay, server logs and crash reports fall away after 30 days, and the support conversation goes when the account does.

Reading without an account

Reading the Bible, downloading translations and dictionaries, highlighting and writing notes all work without signing in, and without an account nothing you write is transmitted at all.
